The other day Carter came into our room and went into my closet, picked out my highest high-heeled shoes and told me to put them on. He told me I needed to wear them so that we could dance. I explained that I did not need tall shoes for dancing and he quickly told me that I did. I then tried to twirl him around and he told me that his job was to twirl me around. It did not work out too well as I am still taller than he is. I am still trying to figure out where he has seen anyone in our family dance in high heeled shoes. It's a mystery:)Most everyone knows we are an incredibly and continually injured family. It's actually laughable. I have my three lingering injuries (neck, back, and knee) and see the doctor at least once a week and it is nothing new. Well, a few weeks ago as we were leaving to get our Christmas tree, Scott slipped down the stairs and tore his knee again. I just looked at him and said, "Please tell me you just did not do what I think you did." He looked at me and replied, "Yep." This would make knee surgery number eight. He took some drugs and off we were to get our tree. A few days later Carter tripped and hurt his leg and started limping quite a bit. I took him in and they x-rayed it. The doctor is still not sure if it is broken. He wants to get another x-ray. Meanwhile, poor Carter is miserable. A few days after that he fell down the cement stairs and scraped and bloodied his nose pretty good. Anyway, Carter and I were sitting on the bed and he said to me, "Mom, we're a broken family. We are all cracked up!" That about sums it up.
Later in the week we went to Portland and see Grandma and Grandpa. Carter was complaining about his leg again and said, "Dad we're still a broken family, but we're going to see Grandpa and Grandpa." We laughed and then worked on saying Grandma and Grandpa. Where we live that's not a mistake you can afford to make:)
