Mexico 2011

We went to Mexico for 10 days the first part of May. We've never been on a real family vacation with just our little family. We had a great time. Carter played really hard. He's such a little swimmer and very active. He's very social and has no problem making new friends. He made a new friend every day that we were in a Mexico. It was so great that there were other kids his age for him to play with. All in all it was a great trip!

The beach was busy with sailboats and paragliders.

This is a view of the pools from our condo. We're on the 14th floor which is pretty freaky, but makes for an awesome view.

Harper, the sea lion. I actually think his name is Arthur, but somehow we misunderstood them at one point and well, he's now Harper to us. We visit him a couple of times a year. Carter loves this little aquarium. He can feed Harper and the snapping turtles. He's our little scientist, so being able to be hands on is just perfect for him.

Mexico Tide Pools 2011

This trip to Mexico we took a trip to a place called CEDO. CEDO is an organization that teaches about the desert and the ocean. There they taught us how explore the tide pools. We learned that there is more to see when the tide goes really low and that a really low tide happens after a full or new moon. Luckily, we had a couple of days of really low tide and this is what we found. We bought a book specifically about the ocean life in the Sea of Cortez. I left my book in Mexico, so I don't remember the names of everything.

Some type of gushy sea creature.

This is some type of sea worm that burrows down in the sand. Kind of gross!

This is a picture of the octopus that came after my foot. Luckily, I moved and it just inked.
More octopus ink!
Carter wading through the tide pools.

Cool shell that washed up on the beach.

 Sooooo many shells.

Baby stingray in one of the tide pools. So cool.

More stingray. All in all a very cool little adventure.
