Wow! It's hard to believe that our little man is 6 years old!! It seems like just yesterday that I was rocking him to sleep with a bottle. Carter woke up REALLY early on his birthday because he was expecting a great present. He really wanted a Rockboard scooter and couldn't wait to see if he got it.
We have had the worst luck with cameras lately. Carter erased our entire video camera a few months ago and we're still waiting to see if it can be recovered. Our nice Cannon keeps timing out and the touch screen on our little Sony is completely black. So, I guess pictures from our iPhones will have to do. Stuff like that is annoying. I actually think I prefer film. I just completely dated myself:)
Sure enough he got what he wished for!
He was so excited!
Did I mention that this was at 6:30 in the morning??
He was trying to convince us to let him ride it to school in the pouring rain. Then he tried to tell us it would be great to take for sharing day!
Grandma and Grandpa took him to get ice cream the day before his birthday since they had to work in the temple on his birthday, so we just had a small cake with our little family. I didn't get pics of the rest of his presents. He got money from Scott's parents and my mom, Grandma Nisey, sent him clothes and 2 new pair of Nike shoes. Carter LOVES shoes and money!! We gave him a track, marble run, real tools and a bunch or other odd and end things.
We went to dinner at Carter's choice of restaurant- a truck stop!! He went there with Grandma and Grandpa too. There's no pretense to this kid that's for sure. All in all it was a great day. He came home and opened the rest of his presents and his party will be next week. He's chosen to have a Totally Gross theme, so it should be interesting. We're so happy he's in our life. Seriously the best thing that's ever happened to us. To top it off his birthday wish was that we would be a family forever and ever. Melted our hearts!! Such a sweet kid! He's now loving school too which makes being 6 that much more awesome!
