Carter's Hot Chocolate Stand

Carter's Hot Chocolate Stand

I thought this was about the cutest thing I've ever seen. He was so excited to sell hot chocolate today. He helped carry out the table and all the cups of hot chocolate. He even cleaned the table.

Carter, "Mom, I need some rags to clean my table oss (off)."
Mom, "Okay, here you go."
Dad, "Carter, what are you doing?"
Carter, "Cleaning oss (off) my table. I don't want people to think I'm a dirty boy."

He worked at this for about 3 hours and made $5.00. So, our breakdown is as follows: table= $89.99, cups= $1.99, hot chocolate= $4.39, marshmallows= $1.29. This is a long term plan. Ha ha! We're going to have to sell a whole lot of hot chocolate to ever be profitable at this rate:) But it was sooooo worth it. I got tears in my eyes seeing how proud he was of what he accomplished!

Funny Things

Carter keeps us laughing constantly. I really should carry around a notepad all day long. Here's a few of his funny comments.

Carter, "Daddy, I miss Mommy. She's a really good mommy. She hasn't killed anybody- or anything."

We're driving in the car and Carter in his randomness says, "Mom, actually I need a wallet." "What? Why?" I say. "I actually just really need one because I have a lot of money." Come to think of it. I caught him getting into my wallet this morning. Hmmmm.....

Carter, "Mom, I need water." Me, "Why don't you go ask the guy at the register for a cup of water." Carter, "Well, I can't. I don't do that on Mondays." Me, "Well, it's your lucky day because it's Friday." Carter, "Well, I forgot to tell you, I don't do that on Fridays either."

Carter to me, "Come on you sweeeeet lady go on a bike ride with me." Can you imagine what he'll say to his dates????

Me after listening to Carter to whine for a very long time, "Carter go see what your dad says about this." Carter, "Mom, I'm not the boss of him you are."

Carter to our cleaning lady, "You are such a hard worker! You do such a GREAT job cleaning. You're going to clean my room right?"

His newest thing is setting up a hot chocolate stand. He's been begging us all week to let him sell hot chocolate. We threw out our little folding table because it was all gross, so we didn't have a table for him to use. I didn't have any hot chocolate mix or cups. So, Carter goes and gets a laundry basket and a paint bucket for his table and chair. He poured a bunch of mixes of Carnation Instant Breakfast into one cup and then went and got about 5 of his sippy cups. He was going to mix a big batch of Carnation Instant Breakfast in one cup and then put it in his sippy cups to sell. I thought it was quite clever of him. Needless to say, I spent all day Saturday looking for a table and buying supplies so he can set up his stand on Monday when the kids get off the bus from school. He's quite the little business man.

Carter's First Day of School

Carter's first day of school.

He loves going to school. We put him in two different preschools so he can go 4 days a week. He asked if he could go every day. So far he loves it and wishes he could be there all day. He's so social and enjoys learning. He LOVES to play. He wants friends to come over almost every hour of the day. We are so proud of what a good boy he is. It seems like yesterday that this little guy was placed in our arms and we became a family. We could not be more thankful to have him in our lives and cannot believe how big he is getting.

I swore my kid would never have a character shirt. I caved when he just had to have it for the first day of school. I still REALLY hate it though.

This week they learned the letter F. So, of course, they went on a field trip to the fire station. (I just happen to be the field trip coordinator.) The firemen are so fantastic out here. We've been a couple of times. They are so patient and willing to be with the kids.

This time was extra exciting because they got a call.
We got to watch all the firemen arrive and get ready to go.

They showed us how fast they can put on their gear and even let us hear them with the air on. Really cool.

After climbing in and out of the trucks and hearing the sirens and seeing the lights, we got to stand on the truck and get a picture. They even gave us all hats to wear. What great guys!

Yes, they are all boys!
It's crazy and we love it!
