First grade!!

Carter started first grade this month! We can hardly believe he is old enough!
He was pretty excited to meet his new teacher and see all of his friends.

Carter found his desk and settled right in. He ended up sitting by one of his best buds which he thought was awesome. We'll see how that works out!! They really don't make furniture like they did in the fifties. Seriously, look how old these desk are and they are in great shape. We're going to go with retro is cool and leave it at that! Ha!

Daddy tried to get all patriotic with this picture. It just ended up with Carter being blinded! LOL All in all a great start to the year. He's adjusting a lot better this year and seems to really be learning a lot. I am fortunate to be able to be in the class helping a few hours each week. I love that I get to know his classmates, their families and his teachers really well. We really couldn't ask for a better situation at this point.

Carter's Business

There are times in life when I look at our child and laugh at how much he is like us. This is one of those times.  Carter has tried his hand at hot chocolate and lemonade, but today he decided to try to rent his quads. He dragged the table out all by himself and came in and filled all the cups with water and then started to write a sign.

He even came up with the price: $2.00 for 1 hour and those who rented received free water. He tried this one other time when we got home from Mexico, but he was trying for $20 an hour. At that point he told me he knew it would be a "really lucky day" if someone paid that price. Today he decided to lower the price because he didn't need a lot of money. I think it's pretty cute that he tried to be a bit more realistic.

He didn't have any renters, but he had a lot of friends come over to try and help him rent them. Yep, this is what the child of a business owner looks like. I love it! Can't wait to see what he tries next.
