This is our conversation while rocking before bedtime:
Carter: Mom, I really want a bruder (brother) and a sister.
Mom: You do? You want a brother and a sister? Two babies?
Carter: Yep, two babies that can walk. Mom, do you (re)member the guy that came to our house to check things out to help us get a baby? I mean two babies. (He's referring to our adoption caseworker).
Mom: Yep, I do. Two babies will be a lot of work. How will I take care of two babies?
Carter: I will help you. Me and Daddy will take care of the boy and you will take care of the grill (girl).
Mom: You will? You will help? That's a lot of work.
Carter: We will take them over to Anna's house so she can babysit and we can leave. (Anna is his teenage babysitter.)
Mom: That's an interesting solution. (Chuckle chuckle.)
Carter: (Completely serious) Why are you laughing?
Mom: (Trying really hard not to keep laughing) I'm just happy you want to help.
Carter: Yeah, I do. We can all leave, Daddy, and Carter, and Mommy and the babies can stay at Anna's.
Mom: Okay, we will keep working on that. (Still laughing under my breath.)
Well, at least we know he really is a little MAN:)

Sweet Little Prayer and Funny Quotes
This was Carter's prayer last night:
"Thankful Father, that we could go to church. You can fix me, but You can't hold me, but You can fix me. Please bless Jesus. Please bless Mommy and Daddy. In the name of Christ Amen."
He's been really sick, so he was asking to be "fixed".
He also told me that I needed to go to Heaven to get my back fixed. I asked him if he would miss me. He said, "Don't be scared mom, we'll be with you. You'll only be gone a few days and then you'll come back and be fixed."
During Family Home Evening he told us that we needed to stop praying so much because we were going to run out of blessings:) It made me wonder if Heavenly Father is as tired of hearing us ask for things as Carter is? Something to think about!

Happy People
So, I was thinking about the last time I wrote a blog entry and discovered to my amazement that it's been a few months:) Imagine that? I think about updating it often because I enjoy reading blogs, but then think I don't have anything very exciting to write about. Carter makes us laugh so much that I can't remember everything he says. But I was just thinking about something funny he said yesterday. His new thing is to raise both of his eyebrows a couple of times when he makes eye contact with someone and grin sheepishly. Scott taught him how to do it and say to me, "Hey good lookin." Carter found that he gets a lot of attention doing this. The other day we were out to breakfast for Scott's birthday and he did this to both tables on either side of us, as well as all the servers. He had them all cracking up. When we got home Scott and I asked him why he did that. He told us because it makes people happy. I thought what a sweet, great answer "because it makes people happy." What a special little guy and (and quite probable class clown).
